Another Emmy for Children's Health Crisis - NHCC

Nashville Public Television’s three-year documentary Children’s Health Crisis has been recognized again for its work in drawing attention to the challenges children in Tennessee face in order to lead healthy lives. On March 17, NPT won a Midsouth Regional Emmy Award in the category of “Community Service,” which includes not only the documentaries in the series, but the various activities it’s undertaken to raise awareness about children’s health, including community engagement discussions, outreach events, health spots for parents and children, and the documentary website.

The series has highlighted the increased number of children facing risks from poor or non-existent prenatal care, the rising epidemic of childhood obesity, misinformation about vaccinations, mental health issues and adolescent sexual health.

The Council is a proud supporter of the program, along with the Healthways Foundation, Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt,Vanderbilt University School of Medicine Department of Pediatrics, and Baptist Healing Trust.
