Called to Action: Fellows Conclude Inaugural Class

by Nashville Health Care Council | Jun 28, 2013

Tonight, the Nashville Health Care Council celebrates the graduation of the inaugural class of Council Fellows.

Throughout the initiative, Council Fellows co-director and former U.S. Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist M.D,. has charged the 33 Fellows to carry forward the city’s legacy of health care entrepreneurship and relentlessly pursue their work toward sustainable, excellent patient care.

“In my years in health care on the clinical, policy and business side, I have never witnessed such a unique and engaged discussion among the men and women who will propel this industry forward,” said Frist.  “I firmly believe that a realistic vision for a more sustainable future for health care can take shape, and that the collaboration we will need to create meaningful change is starting with the Council Fellows initiative.

A recap of the class highlights and featured speakers is included in today’s news release and at www.healthcarecouncilfellows.com.

With the conclusion of the first class comes a new focus on recruiting the 2014 class, who will continue the core mission of the Fellows: to engage, educate and foster leadership among those who will carry the industry forward in an effort to further secure Nashville’s premier position within the industry. Recruitment for the 2014 Fellows class will begin on September 2, 2013, with applications due on October 28, 2013. The 2014 Fellows class will be selected by the Council Fellows Advisory Committee and announced in early December 2013.
