NASHVILLE – The Nashville Health Care Council announces two new additions and new staff roles.
Caleb Graves is the new director of Membership Services. In this position, Graves manages member outreach, retention and recruitment. Prior to moving to Nashville, Graves spent approximately six years in Washington, D.C. working at the White House where he held several key positions, including liaison to state and local elected officials in the Office of Intergovernmental Affairs, associate director in the Office of Strategic Initiatives and deputy director of the Office of Public Liaison. Graves holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Economics from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Sophie Moery was recently hired as director of communications. She is responsible for all communication activities to Council members, media and other key stakeholders. Previously, Moery served as director of Communications for the Tennessee Department of Revenue and an assistant public information officer at the Department of Health. She specialized in health care at GolinHarris public relations agency in Atlanta following her graduation from Vanderbilt University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Human and Organizational Development. Sophie is the vice president for public relations for the Nashville Women’s Political Caucus, and a volunteer with the Nashville Humane Association and Catholic Charities Refugee Services. She is also a member of the 2009 class of Nashville Emerging Leaders.
Three staff members have assumed new roles at the Council. These include:
• Judith Byrd, director of Leadership Health Care, responsible for all aspects of the Council’s Leadership Health Care program including communication and membership recruitment and retention.
• Jamie D. Lee, director of Special Events and Sponsorships, oversees the management of Council programs, including international trade missions and Leadership Health Care delegations, as well as sponsorship sales and coordination for both the Council and Leadership Health Care.
• Mark Richard, manager of Operations, responsible for consistency of internal processes, financial transaction processing and monthly reporting for the Council and Leadership Health Care.
“The Council has an outstanding team working diligently to further establish Nashville’s position as the nation’s health care industry capital,” said Council President Caroline Young. “We’re especially excited to have two new staff members who will enhance Council activities to support our 175 member organizations and foster a supportive environment for all health care business in Nashville.”
The Nashville Health Care Council, founded in 1995 as an initiative of the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce, is an association of health care industry leaders working together to further establish Nashville’s position as the nation’s health care industry capital.
