DaVita CEO Discusses Reform, Integrated Care with Nashville Leaders
Today, the Nashville Health Care Council hosted 250 members for a discussion with Kent Thiry, chairman and CEO, DaVita HealthCare Partners, on health care reform, integrated care, and DaVita’s strategy and vision for the future.
DaVita HealthCare Partners is a clinical leader in kidney care and population health management. DaVita provides care for approximately one out of every three dialysis patients in America (approximately 166,000) in more than 2,000 locations across the U.S., as well as locations overseas (including China, India, and Saudi Arabia). On the health management side, HealthCare Partners takes comprehensive care of approximately 760,000 individuals in five states.
Known for his unique leadership style, Thiry described DaVita’s expansion into new models of care with a goal of delivering superior clinical outcomes while improving the cost and quality of care. Thiry also spoke about the importance of focusing and intentionality to create a mission- and values-driven workplace. DaVita is known for its strong corporate culture and for having highly engaged teammates.
“Though we are faced with headwinds as a result of reimbursement cuts and rate pressures, DaVita HealthCare remains focused on improving clinical outcomes for our patients, delivering integrated care and innovating in a way that benefits doctors, patients and taxpayers,” said Thiry.
