Entrepreneur Center Breaks Ground on Permanent Home
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Entrepreneur Center would like to announce that on November 15, 2012, it is breaking ground on its permanent home in SoBro, downtown Nashville at the Trolley Barns of Rolling Mill Hill. After finalizing the public bid process, WellSpring Builders, Inc. has been awarded the contract for the renovation of the Entrepreneur Center’s building project. Construction began late October and is expected to be completed May of 2013.
For the past two years, the Center has temporarily resided at 105 Broadway, across from the Hard Rock Café. From there the Center helped launch nearly 50 companies, worked with thousands of entrepreneurs, trained hundreds of mentors, partnered with Startup America, led the Startup Tennessee initiative and served as the ‘front door’ for Nashville and Middle Tennessee’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and startup community.
The Center’s permanent home at 41 Peabody St., where 1st Avenue turns into Hermitage Avenue will nearly triple the seats in the accelerator program and the educational and mentoring resources available to Nashville and Tennessee’s startups.
“It has been two years since we made the commitment to move to Rolling Mill Hill. We have now aligned the resources necessary and are turning that promise into a reality,” said Michael Burcham, President and CEO of the Entrepreneur Center. “The new Center will have state-of-the-art technology that will support our programming and digitally connect our companies with mentors and resources throughout Tennessee and the country.”
The mission of the Entrepreneur Center is to connect entrepreneurs with the critical resources they need to launch companies. The new facility will support more companies on site while having the streaming data, video and webcasting capabilities to remotely connect urban and rural entrepreneurs with relationships and resources locally, across the state, country and world.
