Leadership Health Care Announces 2014-2015 Board of Directors

Leadership Health Care (LHC) announces the appointment of its 2014-2015 board of directors effective as of July 1, 2014.Kelvin Ault, partner, US investor-owned health services tax leader, PwC, has been named board chairman and Benson Sloan, business development, Cigna-HealthSpring, will serve as board vice chairman.

LHC is an initiative of the Nashville Health Care Council that nurtures the talents of Nashville’s next generation of health care industry leaders by creating educational, networking and mentoring opportunities for the group’s more than 800 members.

The following new directors joined the LHC Board for three-year terms: David Anderson, director, finance and operations, AmSurg; Avery Fisher, president, Remedify; Will Joseph, medical outcomes specialist, Pfizer; Baxter Lee, vice president, finance and strategy, Emdeon;Scott Mertie, member in charge, Kraft Healthcare Consulting; and Jessica Wells, vice president, medical education, Saint Thomas Health Services.

Jameson Norton, Vanderbilt Owen School of Management Health Care MBA candidate, joins the group in a one-year student board seat. Ted Lomicka, vice president and assistant treasurer, Community Health Systems, will also serve on the board for a renewed, one-year term.

There are two new appointments of LHC committee chairmen. Will Howorth, director, development and special assets, HCA, will lead the Education and Events Committee and Kearstin Patterson, director, communications and design, HCA, will chair the Membership and Marketing Committee. Howorth has also been renewed to the board for an additional three-year term.
