NASHVILLE – Leadership Health Care (LHC) has announced board leadership and seven new directors for fiscal year 2011-2012. Melissa Waddey, senior director, Hospital Strategic Planning, LifePoint Hospitals, remains as chair for 2011-2012, and Mark Wainner, vice president, Operations, AmSurg, is vice chair.
An initiative of the Nashville Health Care Council, LHC fosters the talents of Nashville’s next generation of health care industry leaders by creating educational, networking and mentoring opportunities for its more than 550 individual members.
“LHC members have a shared enthusiasm for the continued expansion of Nashville’s health care industry,” Waddey said. “I look forward to working with our new LHC board members and the Health Care Council to advance Nashville’s standing as the nation’s health care industry capital.”
The following new directors joined the LHC board: John Davis, senior associate, Council Ventures; Bobby Fritts, Nashville account manager, Pfizer; Will Howorth, director of Development, Physician Services, HCA; Ted Lomicka, assistant treasurer, Community Health Systems; Kelly Miller, senior consultant, Kraft Healthcare Consulting; and Michele Peden, vice president, Corporate Communications, IASIS Healthcare.
Drew Mason, Vanderbilt Owen School of Management Health Care MBA candidate, joins the group in a one-year student board seat.
The following board members were re-elected to serve three-year terms on the board: Kearstin Patterson, director, Corporate Communications, BioMimetic Therapeutics and Carrie Teaford, vice president, Finance, Baptist Hospital. All board appointments were effective on July 1.
