The organization presented the inaugural Legacy of Leadership Award to James V. (Jim) Lackey, Jr., chairman of Complete Holdings Group, in recognition of his support of LHC and of the professional development of emerging health care leaders since the program was founded in 2002. As an advisor and board member for LHC, Lackey has been instrumental in the advancement of the program. Lackey is the chairman of the board of directors and former CEO of Passport Health Communications, Inc. He has more than 30 years of experience in the health care industry, in areas ranging from hospital administration to leadership of growing managed care organizations to the startup and leadership of a health care technology company.
Sarah Cook, vice president, account services at Healthcare Bluebook, received the Health Care Emerging Leader of the Year award. Cook has health care account management expertise in both corporate and startup environments, and serves on the board of directors of Leadership Health Care. Prior to joining Healthcare Bluebook, Cook served as executive director of account management at Healthways.
Jordan Kendig, director of health care implementations at W Squared, was named Ambassador of the Year, a new award for LHC this year. This award recognizes an individual member who has shown dedication and commitment to LHC and serves as a positive reflection of the organization’s mission and goals. Kendig’s work to encourage current and prospective members of LHC is seen through his service to the marketing and membership committee, participation in events and hard work to recruit his colleagues to the program.
LBMC Healthcare Services was named the Supporting Organization of the Year for its ongoing commitment to LHC and enriching the next generation of health care industry leaders. The company engaged in a number of LHC events through membership participation and leadership on the LHC membership and marketing committee, and has been an advocate for both LHC and the Council for many years. LBMC is the largest CPA and financial services firm headquartered in Tennessee and the third largest CPA and business consulting firm in the southeastern United States. With offices in Nashville, Knoxville and Chattanooga, and over 430 employees firm-wide, LBMC serves more than 300 health care related organizations.

“Jim’s involvement with LHC over the last 12 years has been key to developing the premiere organization that LHC is today, and it is fitting that he receive the first Legacy of Leadership Award,” said Kelvin Ault, LHC Board chairman and partner, U.S. Investor-Owned Health Services Tax Leader, PwC. “The recipients of each of these awards serve as champions of LHC through promotion of the organization, recruiting efforts and attendance at events.”
“The leadership and dedication of this group of individuals has allowed LHC to continue to grow and be an outstanding professional organization for Nashville’s health care industry,” said Jenni Bradley, director of talent development for the Nashville Health Care Council. “In particular, we are pleased to recognize Jim Lackey’s service to LHC. With his guidance and encouragement, LHC has grown to record membership and has produced top programming for our members.”
