LHC Announces 2006 Volunteer of the Year
NASHVILLE – Leadership Health Care (LHC), a group of health care professionals and entrepreneurs organized in partnership with the Nashville Health Care Council, has announced Johnny Harrison as the 2006 recipient of the Leadership Health Care Volunteer of the Year Award.
Harrison, administrative director of Rehab Services at Skyline Medical Center, is an active member of LHC and has volunteered for the past two years as a leader of LHC’s Peer Mentoring Program. This program brings LHC members together in small group environments for focused discussion and networking.
“Leadership Health Care plays an important role in nurturing future health care leaders, and I am proud to be a part of these efforts,” Harrison said. “I am so pleased to receive the Volunteer of the Year Award, and I look forward to being actively involved in the organization in 2007.”
The Volunteer of the Year Award recognizes a member of LHC for outstanding service to the organization and for support of the group’s overall mission to foster the next generation of health care leaders. Past award recipients include Elizabeth Calhoun Swarr, senior consultant at the Vanderbilt Center for Better Health, and Robert M. Coppedge, principal with New York-based Capitol Health.
“Leadership Health Care owes its success to the tremendous work of our member volunteers,” noted Paul Wallace, LHC chairman and senior vice president at Healthways, Inc. “Johnny is a truly deserving award recipient. He has been an energetic supporter of our efforts to foster leadership and to promote discussion about innovative ideas and trends in the health care industry.”
