Leadership Health Care (LHC) is proud to announce the recipients of the 2014 Delegation to Washington, D.C., scholarships: Peter Attwater, MBA student, Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management; Melissa Bogle, nurse practitioner and statewide practice manager, CVS/MinuteClinic; and Sarah Hirsch, director of clinical care management, Advantage Behavioral Health.
The annual LHC Delegation to Washington, D.C. offers an exclusive opportunity to hear from members of Congress, Administration officials, Capitol Hill staff and national thought leaders about key health care policy issues, federal health care spending priorities and reform implementation. LHC’s annual visit to the nation’s capital exposes emerging industry leaders to health care developments and perspectives on the policy environment while showcasing Nashville’s robust and entrepreneurial $70 billion health care industry.
“A fundamental part of Leadership Health Care’s mission is to produce and support educational opportunities for Nashville’s emerging leaders,” said LHC Director Jenni Bradley. “Providing scholarships for the Delegation is a great way to ensure these opportunities are accessible to more of our members.”
Attwater is a second-year student at the Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management, where he is specializing in health care with concentrations in strategy and operations and serves as the president of the Health Care Club. Attwater was selected as a student board member of LHC and serves on the membership and marketing committee.
Bogle is a nurse practitioner and the statewide practice manager of CVS/MinuteClinic in the state of Tennessee. She currently manages the operations of 25 retail pharmacy-based medical clinics with plans to further expand in 2014. Bogle is also enrolled as a doctor of nursing practice student at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga. Her research interests in school include the development of emotional intelligence in health care workers as a leadership capability.
As director of clinical care management, Hirsch leads Advantage’s clinical staff, works hand-in-hand with Advantage’s medical director and physician advisors and coordinates clinical care for all Advantage members. She also guides business development and performs all requested utilization reviews for the company.
