NASHVILLE – Nashville Capital Network has launched Angel Office Hours, a series of educational workshops for local entrepreneurs. The quarterly program offers entrepreneurs the opportunity to pitch their business model to a group of knowledgeable investors and advisors who provide constructive feedback on the pitch and plan. NCN kicked off Angel Office Hours on Friday, February 11 with three early-stage companies and 10 accomplished angels and advisors.
“We are excited to start this new initiative for the entrepreneur community in Nashville,” said Sid Chambless, executive director of Nashville Capital Network. “It is our goal to provide deserving companies the opportunity to receive crucial feedback in a no-stress environment so they may become fully prepared for the capital raising process.”
The recent workshops included representatives from Care Technology Systems, PrimoCare and Health Data Source, three Nashville-based ventures. Each company was given 45 minutes to offer a brief presentation and then respond to questions, comments, and feedback from the angels.
Jason Moore, CEO of Health Data Source, said he was grateful to be given the opportunity to participate in Angel Office Hours. “This program is a great resource for companies at our stage in the capital raising process and we were able to take away some really great feedback for future pitches to angel investors and on our overall business model, in general,” said Moore.
“NCN strives to help promising entrepreneurs connect with successful angels who can review business plans, offer advice and become potential investors in their businesses” said Chambless. “We believe Angel Office Hours will be a way for entrepreneurs to connect with our network, leverage the experience of our angels, and advance their businesses towards funding.”
Jim Anderson, CEO of Care Technology Systems said the feedback he was given was very helpful. “It’s great to be given the opportunity to practice our pitch to people with so much health care experience,” said Anderson.
