Nashville Health Care Council Announces 2013-2014 Board of Directors
“The Health Care Council makes a significant contribution to the growth and expansion of Nashville’s dynamic health care community,” Carpenter said. “I look forward to working with other industry leaders to cultivate a positive business environment for health care companies, to foster the next generation of health care leaders and entrepreneurs, and to advance Nashville’s visibility as the nation’s health care industry capital.”
Four new members joined the board for three-year terms. They are David L. Black, PhD., CEO and founder, Aegis Sciences Corporation; R. Milton Johnson, president and CFO, HCA; Mike Mauldin, CEO, SpecialtyCare; and Carl Whitmer, president and CEO, IASIS Healthcare.
Nine new directors representing health care companies and professional service organizations that support the industry are joining the board for one-year terms: Charles W. Byrge II, president/head of investment banking, Harpeth Capital; Beth Chase, president and CEO, C3 Consulting; Scott Corley, senior vice president, FirstBank; Bob Fisher, president, Belmont University; Robert Frist, chairman and CEO, HealthStream; Timothy Gary, partner and health care team leader, Adams and Reese; Andrew Grobmyer, managing director, Huron Consulting; David Pickett, office managing partner, PricewaterhouseCoopers; and Richard Miller, president, Earl Swensson Associates.
Shawn Morris, president of development and innovation, Cigna-HealthSpring, has been elected to the board for a one year term. He serves in a director seat for an outstanding alumnus of the Fellows initiative.
In addition, Ted Lomicka, vice president and assistant treasurer, Community Health Systems and chairman of the Council’s Leadership Health Care initiative, was elected to serve a one-year term on the board.
