Nashville Health Innovation Exchange Call for Proposals - NHCC

The Nashville Health Care Council and Bipartisan Policy Center (BPC) invite individuals and/or organizations interested in sharing their innovative strategies to improve the delivery of health care using health information technology to apply to participate in the Nashville Health Innovation Exchange. Selected participants will be featured as part of a conference entitled Forum on Transformation through Innovation: Health Care Reform Policy Series V, hosted by the Council and BPC on Tuesday, June 19, 2012, from 11:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. CT, at the Embassy Suites Nashville South-Cool Springs.

Applications to participate in the Nashville Health Innovation Exchange must be received by Monday, April 30, 2012 and must demonstrate innovations in health care delivery, enabled by health information technology (IT).  Applications will be reviewed by a panel of evaluators representing key leaders in health care and health information technology within the state of Tennessee convened by the Council and BPC. Successful applicants will present their innovation at the Nashville Health Innovation Exchange on Tuesday, June 19.

Final decisions for a limited number of presentations and exhibits will be made by Monday, May 28, 2012. Applicants will be notified shortly thereafter.  Nashville-based innovations in health care delivery enabled by health IT will be evaluated according to the following criteria:

• How the innovation addresses an explicit, highly prevalent health care issue in either Nashville or the U.S.
• How the innovation improves the quality and/or safety of health care
• How the innovation supports efficiencies in health care delivery
• How the innovation reduces health care costs (if applicable)

Successful applicants for the Nashville Health Innovation Exchange will receive the following:

• An invitation to a VIP Roundtable with BPC Health Project Co-Chairs Senator Tom Daschle and Senator Bill Frist
• Promotion in media and communication materials associated with the conference
• Presentation tables within the conference space
• Brief (8 to 10 minute) presentation time
• Attendance at a networking reception for speakers, meeting participants, and members of the media

Keynote speakers include:

• Former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle
• Former Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist

• Caroline Young, President, Nashville Health Care Council
