Nashville Public Television continues to report on children’s health by focusing the next episode in the NPT Reports: Children’s Health Crisisseries on mental health. On Wednesday, June 22, NPT will host community leaders, mental health professionals, members of the media and parents at their studios to preview this latest episode before it airs and participate in a panel discussion and audience Q&A that follows. The discussion will be taped live and premiered immediately after the episode airs Wednesday, June 29 at 9:00 p.m. on NPT.
The Nashville Health Care Council, with the Healthways Foundation, Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, Vanderbilt University School of Medicine Department of Pediatrics, and Baptist Healing Trust support the seven-part, Emmy-winning NPT Reports: Children’s Health Crisis documentary series that explores the challenges children in Tennessee face in order to lead healthy lives.
Previous episodes have focused on infant mortality, obesity and prevention. In November, U.S. Surgeon General Regina Benjamin traveled to Nashville to draw attention to the series. The Council was honored with an Emmy of its own this spring.
