PYA has announced the promotion of Senior Manager Michael Ramey, Senior Manager Matt Stuart, and Chief Development Officer Jeff Pate to the level of Equity Principals, effective January 1, 2018.

A leader within the PYA healthcare consulting service line, Ramey specializes in transaction support, due diligence, valuation, financial analysis, and post-merger integration. Ramey has over 15 years’ experience providing business transaction support services. He has been with the Firm since 2011, providing consulting services for hospitals, healthcare systems, physician practices, ambulatory care centers, and healthcare information technology companies. He frequently presents at events for various national healthcare-related organizations.
Ramey is involved in multiple organizations including the American Health Lawyers Association (AHLA) and is a candidate member of the American Society of Appraisers. He holds a Master of Accountancy from the University of Tennessee.
Stuart joined the Firm in 2007. He conducts financial statement audits for a number of organizations, including hospitals and other healthcare providers, foundations, financial institutions, and not-for-profit organizations and is also experienced in performing employee benefit plan audits. A thought leader, he often contributes content for Firm-related publications and frequently gives presentations on audit and accounting updates. He is a certified public accountant and is licensed in both Tennessee and Georgia.
Stuart is active in multiple organizations including the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and was presented with ACHE’s Early Career Healthcare Executive Award. Stuart is also a recipient of the Greater Knoxville Business Journal’s “40 under 40” honor. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Appalachian State University and his Master of Accountancy degree from the University of Tennessee.
Pate leads the development efforts of PYA with an extensive background in growing and managing healthcare businesses. He is a certified public accountant and began his career as an auditor at a “Big Four” audit firm working with healthcare industry clients. An entrepreneur, he led the startup of a company that became a leading provider of patient engagement solutions. Pate joined PYA in 2016. He has utilized his more than 20 years of industry know-how to develop new and current businesses and has proven himself to be an experienced facilitator and problem-solver.
As a connector, Pate is passionate about building organizations, improving processes, and driving new business growth. He is involved with many professional organizations, and shares his expertise as a director on both non-profit and for-profit boards.
